Powerlayer Microsystems, Inc.  is a Beijing-based private company specializing in the research, production, sales and support of video/audio chips for HDTV and IP-STB. PLM holds various key patents with regard to coding and modulation technology for HDTV and IP-STB. PLM has also attracted multiple rounds of funding from international venture capital firms. Moreover, in recognition of PLM’s strength in R&D and Product Development, it has received and continues to receive research grants from the Beijing government.

To date, PLM has shipped over 1 Million units of PLM1000 (a HD video format converter chip for CRT TV), and has successfully designed in the PLM3000 (SOC for Connected HDTV/IP-STB with P2SP streaming built in) with Tier-1 TV and STB OEMs.

In order to enable rich internet entertainment content on the PLM3000 platform, PLM cooperated with many internet content providers covering music, video, gaming and Karaoke media. These online services will provide consumers with much richer entertainment experiences than previously possible.
